Supervises the repair and maintenance activities performed by Clinical Engineering HTM staff at the assigned facilities. Responsible for assigning both scheduled and unscheduled work to technicians in the department and overseeing the day to day operations of the department. This will cover Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and area Advocate Medical Group sites.
Major Responsibilities:
Management and SupervisionProduces, reviews and makes assessments of various reports related to work completion, unfinished work, and preventive maintenance completion rates and repeat equipment failures. Manages medical equipment service for multiple locations. Develops and manages work schedules for all technical staff.Verifies reported equipment problems and assignees the proper resources to the job.Has direct control of all maintenance activities on equipment installed base of no less than $100,000,000 and not greater than $300,000,000.Evaluates staff productivity, efficiency and other specific work quality performance indices.Conducts staff performance evaluations and HR related responsibilities.Technical Projects Provides educational support to both Clinical Engineering technical staff and to clinical equipment users as needed. Develops custom equipment related solutions in conjunction with the technical and clinical staff at the facility. Assigns and monitors resources for all clinical equipment related installation projects. Resources are considered Advocate Clinical Engineering staff, as well as paid outside providers. Provides experience based input with respect to equipment and vendor selection during equipment planning phases of a project.Customer / Vendor Relations Acts as primary contact for clinical customers by screening work requests and assigning resources to address issues. Resolves customer issues that do not require the attention of the Manager or Director of Clinical Engineering. Ensures that customers needs are addressed in a timely manner. Assists Clinical Engineering site manager with customer rounding Monitors vendor activities through personal interaction or by review of service reports filed by the engineers.Regulatory Compliance & Safety Monitors department performance for compliance with regulatory and safety-related policies and procedures Assists in development, monitoring, and planning of site performance improvement goals and/or action plans Ensures department participation in Safety rounds and regulatory audits Attends Daily Safety Huddle, Safety Committee, and other regulatory-related meetings, as necessary Assists Risk Management and Clinical Engineering Site Manager in investigation of medical equipment incidents
