Medical Center: UH: Clinical Lab- (Full-Time, Evening Shift) -
Job Summary: This position will support LLUMC's strategic plan and the organization's mission to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, while embracing the core values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, humility, Justice and Wholeness. Supervises the operation of the pre analytic and analytic area(s) of the Medical Laboratory. Maintains adherence to all regulatory, quality, and compliance policies, and standard operating procedures (i.e., SOP). Performs the duties of their direct report staff when necessary. May serve as a preceptor/mentor to students, residents, and staff. These services may be provided for all LLUH laboratories as applicable. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum four years of experience in high complexity, computerized clinical laboratory as licensed CLS required. Supervisory or Clinical Lab Scientist Lead experience preferred.

Possesses excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills in English matching the style to the message and the audience. Maintains excellent interpersonal relationships with all customers (e.g., staff, patients, vendors). Provides staff and management with timely information, constructive and actionable feedback. Fosters cooperation and collaboration, actively solicits opinions from others, Builds respect and trust. Able to organize work, to service multiple requests and tasks at one time, while maintaining quality and a professional manner. Self-motivated and works well with minimal direction. Articulates logical and well-founded arguments that support conclusions. Possesses excellent analytic skills. Essential Sensory Abilities: Ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to the position; discern temperature variances through touch.
Licensures and Certifications: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License required. Clinical Lab Scientist CLS (NCA) or Medical Technologist MT (ASCP) preferred.
