Job Summary: In collaboration with clinic leadership, instructs, counsels, monitors and evaluates nursing/support staff. Assists in planning, presenting, evaluating and revising staff development activities. Performs duties of charge nurse/team leader or Staff Nurse when needed. Collaborates with other members of the health care team to plan, implement, and monitor clinical activities within assigned service area.
Essential Job and Department Specific Functions: 1. In collaboration with the clinic leadership, instructs, and monitors the work of nursing/support staff relative to assigned area. 2. In collaboration with the clinic leadership and Nursing Education, plans and structures the nursing/support personnel’s orientation program. Plans daily orientee assignments. Educates nursing/support personnel orientees concerning policies and procedures. Documents all observations and submits recommendations to clinic leadership. 3. Performs on-going assessment and provides input to clinic leadership regarding staff performance evaluations. 4. Assists Nursing Education in planning, presenting, evaluating and revising the staff development activities and policies and procedures. Qualifications: Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred. Michigan license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Two years ambulatory experience in area of specialization.
