Purpose of Job

To plan and schedule condition and performance monitoring tasks. To ensure all work is carried out within budget and on time to the required quality and Sasol Group standards to optimise the reliability of equipment.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Manage the Predictive maintenance and Proactive programmes for Sasol Mining driving adherence to all the utilised Condition monitor techniques 
Consolidate programmes of the various sites and ensure compliance 
Manage the Oil programme across the complex in terms of setting standards and adherence 
Drive standardisation across the complex in terms of processes, techniques applied, instruments utilised, database set-ups and reporting 
Monitor the performance of implemented Condition monitoring solutions and adhere to timelines 
Manage the transition to online and real-time Asset Health prediction models 
Assess technical work of peers and consultants, conduct frequent audits and ensure loop closure on deviations 
Drive and positively influence the Condition Monitoring Workgroup and Standardisation committee engagement sessions 
Implement solutions based on cost effective principles 
Engage with Engineering personnel to discuss deviations and ensure implementation of corrective actions; involvement in the Defect elimination process 
Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations. 
Implement Sasol Group's risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework. 
Build and maintain positive relationships with engineers to enable all parties full visibility on improvement opportunities. 
Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals. 
Establish a network of internal and external experts to engage, discuss to provide input and make decisions pertaining to the Condition Monitoring strategies

Formal Education

Grade 12/ N3 with Mathematics, Physical Science and English 

National Diploma/ B-Tech Degree / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 

Min Experience

Six (6) Years Condition Monitoring experience

 Or       

Three (3) Years Artisan experience in Underground Coal environment (E/M)

 Eight (8) Years Condition Monitoring experience

Or

Six (6) Years Artisan experience Underground or Surface / Plant environment

 Eight (8) Years Condition Monitoring experience
