The Reception Supervisor assists the Reception Manager while providing courteous and efficient service to all guests before their arrival and during their stay. They are also responsible for maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

Requirements: • At least 1-2 years of experience in Reception, preferably at Hyatt.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College studies in related fields are helpful.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to quickly assess and select from alternative courses of action.
• Must be able to perform well in high-pressure, stressful situations, including the ability to handle guest objections and disputes with satisfactory results.
• Must show initiative in job performance.
• Anticipate what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
• Must be effective in handling workplace issues, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving problems when necessary.
• Must be effective at listening to understand and clarify concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
• Must be able to work with financial information and data, and perform basic arithmetic functions.

Responsibilities: • Handle all guest and coworker interactions in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance according to Hyatt standards as required by the schedule, which may vary depending on hotel needs.
• Be knowledgeable and assist with all required emergency procedures.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag while working.
• Comply with Hyatt’s standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Maintain a friendly and warm attitude at all times.
• Set the standard for guest relations at Reception.
• Obtain all required information when taking room reservations.
• Monitor all VIP and special guest requests.
• Review the Reception log daily.
• Fully understand and execute all relevant phases of the Reception computer system.
• Ensure timely and professional delivery and registration of all messages, packages, and correspondence.
• Be aware of all current rates, packages, and promotions.
• Be familiar with all internal hotel groups.
• Be capable of performing all functions of a Reception Agent.
• Complete and ensure proper filing of the room rate verification report and room cleaning report.
• Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with coworkers and other hotel departments.
• Set the example for coworkers and be a team leader.
