Job Summary:
The Operations Supervisor, Housekeeping, is responsible for achieving immediate and short-term goals as defined by the Sr. Department Manager of Operations. This role involves overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring timely and efficient execution of tasks within budget. The Supervisor must be a proactive leader capable of managing diverse priorities and fostering collaboration across all levels of the organization. Core responsibilities include scheduling, operational planning, absence management, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports directly to the Sr. Department Manager.

Leadership & Direction:Lead and manage a team of housekeeping staff to meet internal and external customer needs, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.Employee Management:
Supervise team members in a unionized environment, fostering a positive and productive work culture. Manage absence, discipline, and performance improvement processes.Operational Oversight:
Monitor and enforce compliance with operational policies and administrative procedures. Evaluate overall departmental efficiency and report findings to senior management.Performing work execution of 80% interaction and direct managing out in the areas of service duty of: cleaning, directing, managing and inspecting, combined with 20% Office Administrative Duties of reports, documentation and record keeping.Communication & Coordination:
Work closely with shift counterparts to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity of operations between shifts. Prepare and manage shift reports highlighting key service, safety, employee relations, and equipment issues.Training & Development:
Assist in onboarding, training, and development programs to enhance the skills and performance of housekeeping staff.Inventory & Equipment Management:
Oversee inventory needs and coordinate the use of material handling or mechanical lift equipment to ensure optimal resource utilization.Customer Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departmental managers to identify and meet the needs of customer events, maintaining a high standard of delivery service.Flexibility & Adaptability:
Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities. Be available for extended hours, including weekends, as required.Other Duties: Perform miscellaneous building operations services or additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.Experience:Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible housekeeping experience, with Supervisory Experience strongly preferred.Experience in large hotels, convention centers, or similar environments is a significant advantage.Skills & Abilities:Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and operating equipment.Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and documentation.Proficiency with computers and relevant software.Core Competencies:Customer Focus: Demonstrates commitment to exceeding customer expectations.Organization: Effectively manages resources and prioritizes tasks to achieve objectives under tight deadlines.Problem-Solving: Identifies root causes of issues and develops actionable solutions.Teamwork: Cultivates morale and fosters open communication within the team to create a collaborative environment.This position requires a flexible, results-driven individual who is committed to maintaining operational excellence.
