This is a full-time, salaried non-exempt position.
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Refinery Superintendent, the Refinery Shift Supervisor is the leader responsible for the safety, regulatory compliance, operation, colleague development and leadership, and performance of the K80 Enderlin Refinery. This position leads a team of hourly colleagues. The Supervisor is responsible to lead directly and through others by providing direction, leadership, motivation, communication, training, coaching, and discipline as needed and within site guidelines for all colleagues in their area. It is critical for the site’s success that the Supervisor can successfully collaborate with peers, on site and beyond, to deliver safe results.
Job Responsibilities: (Including, but not limited to) Use expertise of the Enderlin Refinery, to lead, teach, coach, and develop other Refinery colleagues.Employee responsible for coordinating shift operations of Refinery team.Employee performs duties of emergency coordinator for Refinery team.Able and willing to perform any Refinery duty and well suited to train others in these duties.Responsible for coordinating communications with management and other Refinery groups.Lead housekeeping, Product Changeover and Sanitation duties of the Refinery. team. Proactively resolve non conformities and communicate to the quality control and management team.Actively promote the ADM Way and Core Values.Participate, support, and lead trainings on company policies, GMP, Food Safety, OHSA Safety regulations, environmental programs, and operational procedures to ensure the safety of co-workers and product integrity. Active involvement in Plant safety, committed to ADM’s zero injury safety culture.Safety responsibilities including lock out/tag out, confined space entries, emergency coordination, job safety analysis, incident investigation, near miss reporting, audits, SOPs, and Job Cycle Checks.Support a proactive maintenance culture through work order entry, equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance duties, and basic maintenance activities.Additional responsibilities in human resources, quality, operations, sourcing, and other duties and assignments as required.Drive continuous improvement through process observations, suggestions, and teamwork with engineering and management. Education/Training Requirements:High School, equivalent or degree in related field preferred.10+ years of Food, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred.Position requires basic computer operation skills, i.e. use of “point and click” programs, MS Office applications.Must be able to analyze information quickly to provide feedback in the manufacturing process and troubleshoot equipment failures.Mechanical experience or aptitude.Ability to multitask.Self-motivated & commitment to continuous improvement.Strong English communication skills.Physical Demands:Job is physically demanding during shutdown days, in addition to days when machinery is inoperable. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift including days and nights. The schedule consists of 4 days on and 4 days off and working weekends and holidays.
