Supervisor Engine Prep C Shift

As the supervisor of a hardworking and accomplished team of test technicians, you will set technical direction, build team members to support current and future program needs, be responsible for employee life cycle including hiring, performance management, training and providing tools for career development. You will help to improve technical processes, best practices, and tool development around focused areas of launch vehicle test planning, execution, and hardware development cycles.

This is C Shift position (Thursday -Sunday-5AM-5:00 PM). Ability to work flexible shifts and OT is required.

 

Responsibilities:

Supervise Engine Prep technicians in day-to-day operations

Conduct performance reviews

Support recruiting efforts (conducting technical screens/participating in panel interviews)

Responsible for establishing workstation assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees

Maintain and communicate work center schedule status to ensure meeting customer expectations

Provide first level escalation support to employees regarding HR issues (employee relations, worker’s compensation, disciplinary actions, timecards, PTO requests)

Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and implementing change to improve process, reduce cycle and setup times

Maintain all work center programs.  These programs include 5S, Lean, Cleaning and Safety

Ensure all team members follow work instructions, quality requirements and processes

Ensure accurate technician staff data recording - namely clock-in/clock-out activities

Provide continued training and skills development for team members, and mentor early career team members

Ensure start-up readiness for production

Safely work within an industrial environment

 

Qualifications:

This is C Shift position (Thursday -Sunday-5AM-5:00 PM). Ability to work flexible shifts and OT is required.

4+ years of management experience

7+ years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing operations, specifically in an engines/propulsion-related capacity

Root cause and corrective action analysis experience

Understand the department KPI’s metrics to improve performance

Strong communication skills with a heavy customer focus

Must have a continuous improvement mindset

Clear understanding of production versus development environments

Fluent in use of precision hand tools

Familiar with use of personal computers

Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

 

Desired

This is C Shift position (Thursday -Sunday-5AM-5:00 PM). Ability to work flexible shifts and OT is required.

Strong experience with aerospace engine preparation, checkouts, and integration

5S, Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen experience

Knowledge of installation and assembly tolerances

Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
