Supervisor Environ Services I
Supervises the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services department. Acts as a technical resource for team members. Implements goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units. Provides effective utilization of personnel, policies, and procedures in order to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive environment. **Schedule for the position: Mon - Fri -1:00pm - 9:30pm** **Responsibilities:** + Supervises employees in daily operations and evaluates performance. + Continuously inspects assigned areas to ensure high quality of cleaning and maintenance is being performed. + Maintains staffing levels, approves and schedules paid time off and leave requests. + Ensures cross coverage. + Coordinates and provides orientation, education and training. + Improves procedures and processes. + Analyzes work flow and procedures, recommending change as appropriate. + Provides recommendations to improve speed, quality and effectiveness of the department procedures. + May be assigned to cover shifts in the event of staffing gaps including vacancies. + Other duties as assigned. **Education:** + High School Diploma or GED required. + Bachelor's Degree may substitute the experience requirement. **Certifications:** + None required. **Complexity of Work:** + Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. + Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. **Work Experience:** + One year of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager, or one year of supervisor experience in a related field. **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods + Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment\ + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information + Ability to travel throughout the hospital system + Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching. + Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals. + Light Work - Exerting 11 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
