*Description* Summary: Maintains and improves a cost effective maintenance, repair and cleaning service for the hospital building and its user support systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment in order to meet the hospital's goals, strategic plans, and quality initiatives. Responsibilities: 1. Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff by managing Building Services work teams. 2. Maintains a clean environment for patients, visitors and staff by managing Building Services work teams. 3. Provides technical support and training to zone leaders & environmental technicians. 4. Supervises and coordinates cleaning, trash removal & preventative maintenance procedures for all patient care areas & utility support systems. 5. Assigns work to personnel and monitors for accuracy & ensures completion of tasks. 6. Performs administrative tasks pertaining to daily and overall operations. Orients, trains, schedules, counsels, & evaluates employees. 7. Responds to all customer complaints pertaining to repairs, maintenance, housekeeping, etc. 8. Develops professional skills, attends continuing education sessions and attains personal qualification standards to ensure the technical competency & team work required to provide quality service. 9. Develops an empowered, knowledgeable customer oriented staff which functions 24 hours/day - 7 days/week. 10. Obtains outside services as needed by priority in a cost effective manner. 11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT Other Information: Required: Minimum Experience: five years Desired: Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese. Supervisory, motivational, administrative and strong customer service and strong service excellence skills.
