As a Supervisor, you will supervise the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services department. Some of your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Acting as a technical resource for caregivers.  

Implementing goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units.  

Providing effective utilization of personnel, policies and procedures in order to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment.  


The ideal future caregiver is someone who:  

Has experience with Microsoft platforms, such as Excel, Word and Teams.  

Is independent when locating key resources for caregivers.  

Can balance frontline work (monitoring caregivers across the hospital) with office work (monitoring the bed board, payroll, inventory, etc.).  

Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.  


This position is an excellent entry level leadership role that allows you to be present with the team every day. This is a hands-on job that presents many skillsets, such as learning about finance, productivity dashboards and how analytics applies to Environmental Services.

Responsibilities:

Supervises employees in daily operations and evaluates performance.Continuously inspects assigned areas to ensure high quality of cleaning and maintenance is being performed.Maintains staffing levels, approves and schedules paid time off and leave requests.Ensures cross coverage.Coordinates and provides orientation, education and training.Improves procedures and processes.Analyzes work flow and procedures. Identifies and implements opportunities to improve speed, quality and effectiveness.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for the experience requirement.

Certifications:

None required.

Complexity of Work:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Work Experience:

Two years of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager, or one year of supervisor experience in a related field.Previous environmental services or housekeeping experience is highly preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.Offset: Bachelor’s Degree may substitute the experience requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periodsAbility to operate a computer and other office equipment.Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
