Supervisor Environmental Services Long Term Care
Shift and status

Full time, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., variable days, and on-call weekends.

Job Summary

Maintains shift accountability for the provision of environmental services in a cost effective and efficient manner. Maintains accountability for the proper allocation of environmental services employees to related area. Mentors and guides employees in their current role and professional growth, provides consistent and continuous input regarding employee performance. Communicates, collaborates and acts as a resource to customers, employees, management and other members of the health care team with regard to environmental care issues.

Essential FunctionsAssumes shift accountability for utilizing environmental services to maintain facilities consistent with current policies, procedures, protocols and standards. Makes suggestions for change and provides input into policies, procedures, and goals as needed.Manages overtime costs and length-of-shift (LOS) and monitors the daily consumption of FTE’s and supplies for the environmental services area.Provides input into the development of the staff schedule and makes alteration and changes to meet changing needs. Fills staff vacancies on a shift-by-shift basis and anticipate the needs of other shifts.Maintains payroll information of employee hours and communicates schedule changes to the appropriate people.Participates in interviewing candidates and makes recommendations regarding hiring. Prepares ongoing performance evaluations of non-management employees, setting goals with employees and initiating performance improvement process as necessary. Acts as a mentor, coach, role model and resource to employees.Acts as a customer advocate by providing ongoing communication with customers, staff, and management regarding environmental services issues.Inspects and evaluates physical condition of hospital. Recommends painting, repairs, furnishing, and relocation of equipment.Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

High school graduate or equivalent.2 years of relevant related experience.1 year of customer service experience.

Associate degree
