Find your purpose as the Supervisor of Health Information Management and Release of Information at CentraCare. As the Supervisor of Health Information Management Release of Information, you will supervise the daily activities of HIM operations in release of information. Coordinates resources and sets priorities to meet operational objectives. Understands and applies current state and federal regulations such as HIPAA and Patient Right of Access as well as the requirements for regulatory/credentialing agencies. Applies operational business practices, following policies and procedures, to improve overall efficiency. Uses judgement to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day to day technical and operational issues. Provides education, conveys performance expectations, and handles sensitive personal concerns.
Schedule:
Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks Mon-Fri Days; 8 hour shift between 7:30a-5:00p Some travel between St. Cloud, Willmar, and Sauk Centre will be necessary.Pay and Benefits:

Post High School Degree Completion of a Health Information Management program. 3 years of experience in Health Information Management related field. 2 years in a supervisory role within a health care environment Certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or a Registered Health Information Administrator(RHIA) preferred.Core Functions:
Oversees the day-to-day operation of the department. Responsible for efficiency review and improvement in operational workflows. Administrator of security access for payer portals. Gathers and reports statistical information. Encourages, fosters, and enhances team concept among workforce. Uses strong interpersonal skills to maintaining effective communication with internal and external customers, including requesters and third-party vendors. Responsible for reviewing legal documentation concerning use, access, exchange and disclosure of protected health information. Provides feedback and addresses concerns on performance of HIM staff. Communicate with patients and requestors in areas of issue resolution. Liaison between the IS & T build and HIM operational teams. Sets priorities and adjusts staff to minimize backlogs and ensure the most effective workflow. Assist in interview and selection of new staff. Responsible for coordinating and aiding in the training of new employees. Creates and updates policies and procedures. Maintains competencies in Health Information Management, state and federal regulation, accrediting agency requirements, HIPAA, etc. Assists in the interpretation and operationalization of current state and federal access and privacy laws. Maintains proficiency with current technologies for patient portal use.
