In this position you will serve as the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, providing tech/admin supervision over subordinate leaders/workers in accomplishing trades/labor work of the HVAC/R Element and effective and efficient life-cycle operation, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure. Ensures education in, compliance with, and practice of security directives, good safety, and health in all work areas. Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction. Performs administration responsibilities. Advises employees of performance expectations and explains new work techniques, as required. Participates in employee and labor management matters with HR professionals. Delivers presentations on program status to leadership, including, accomplishments, solutions, and future requirements for support. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Federal Wage System Positions, Trades, Craft, and Labor Positions located HERE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade WS-08 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences is a supervisor that will maintain and operate base-wide Civil Engineer customer interface via project planning, program development, design, project management contract execution and technical support. The Supervisor is responsible for planning/assigning weekly/monthly basis the use of subordinates, facilities, and materials. The Supervisor participates with employees in the development of performance standards and rates employees, and recommends hiring, promotions or reassignments; identifies, arranges and provides developmental and training needs of employees; provides a work environment that is free from all forms of discrimination, harassment and retaliation; addresses subordinate's concerns, whether perceived or real and follows up with appropriate action to correct or eliminate tension in the workplace; supports the agency's EEO program; utilizes safety and security practices following established rules and regulations to maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment. The Element Supervisor is responsible for all Safety and Compliance programs within the Element, to include Fall Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Hazardous Materials, Equipment and Computer Account management. Desired Skills: Five years or more of experience as a supervisor in the HVAC field. Five years HVAC industrial or commercial field operations experience desired. Five years of pipefitting experience desired. Must have a journeyman level training as HVAC technician.
