We’re seeking a Supervisor of IT Network Engineering to lead the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of APS's communication networks, ensuring peak performance and reliability. You are responsible for: + Leading and mentoring a team of network engineers in deploying, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure. + Overseeing the performance and availability of APS’s communication networks to support critical operations. + Ensuring network security, stability, and compliance with industry standards. + Driving continuous improvement and innovation in network operations. Minimum Requirements Supervisor IT Network Engineering | Infrastructure-Palo Verde + Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field + AND five (5) years prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience plus demonstrated leadership skills. + Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications + Skilled in change management processes and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards + Knowledge of business and industry needs, as well as the technical demands; network design, installation, maintenance and operations; extensive knowledge of internet, computer, routers, switches, firewall, etc.; IT security; hardware and software for firewalls; firewall installation, configuration and maintenance; various computer software applications, computer/networking hardware, standard operating systems and any other computer-related technologies such as wireless, MPLS, network automation, cloud and call center. + Skills in customer service; interpersonal, written and oral communications; supervising and working collaboratively in teams and across organizations; synthesizing feedback and adjusting plans accordingly; building strong relationships inside and outside the organization resolving incidents/problems efficiently and effectively. + Demonstrated practice of management approaches such as work scheduling, coaching, tactics, and process execution. + Ability to respond promptly to customer needs and recognize the importance of customer focus and/or of serving the needs of the end user; takes a customer-centric approach to problem solving; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments; manages difficult or emotional customer situations; solves conflict; maintains confidentiality + Applying creative solutions to business problems to ensure business needs are most effectively met; advanced information system configuration management Nuclear requirement + Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. + Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. + This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities. + These are a condition of employment at PVNGS. Major Accountabilities 1. Supervise staff in performance of network design, installation, maintenance and operations functions. Defines short-term goals, priorities, and operational plans to ensure team goals are aligned with the goals and priorities of the organization 2. Oversee enterprise network planning, high-level troubleshooting, security and network system administration 3. Mentors technical staff on design, implementation and execution of network solutions. Mentors, trains and develops technical staff in routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless technologies. 4. Manages staff to develop and maintain department hardware, software and configuration standards 5. Oversee the testing of network systems. Tests and develops guidelines for implementation 6. Conducts infrastructure planning and development activities 7. Report on staffing, service delivery, product development and delivery, uptime, and other metrics. 8. Develop and manage department budget. 9. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. 10. Oversee new or updated equipment installations to drive down cost, improve efficiency and align with future network systems requirements 11. Serves as a client advocate by meeting with customers and develop relationships to improve overall customer satisfaction 12. Stays current on the Critical Information Protection (CIP) standards and ensures staff is adhering to all standards 13. Creates and promotes a productive work environment, ensuring that necessary skills and competencies are in place to meet the goals of the unit. Coaches team members on performance, completes employee performance evaluations and recommends pay actions. Any PVGS employee may be called upon for random Fitness For Duty Testing (FFD) during scheduled working hours. Employees must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
