**Position Highlights**

**A Brief Overview**
Oversees the Lab and ensures it is running efficiently and effectively. Responsible for the performance of timely, accurate, quality, clinical laboratory results utilizing all available human and material resources within the laboratory.
**What you will do**
+ Performs calibration, quality control checks, and preventative maintenance steps on assigned instrumentation and documentation information. Initiates and follows through with trouble shooting of equipment as necessary.
+ Performs testing utilizing established protocol with a high degree of accuracy in all departments of the laboratory.
+ Communicates laboratory data to appropriate departments and individuals in an accurate and timely fashion.
+ Reviews, researches and interprets data using the following sources: patient results, quality control, quality improvement and reference data. Assumes responsibility for distinguishing between normal and abnormal clinical lab parameters.
+ Collects, receives, and transports blood and other specimens from clinic patients following accepted standards of practice.
+ Monitors laboratory inventory. Responsible for resource utilization (lab supplies and equipment) in laboratory. Responsible for medical supply ordering for the clinic.
+ Performs, reviews and evaluates quality control and assessment, daily result surveillance and proficiency testing. Directs quality assurance program and initiates corrective action for problems identified.
+ Attends educational training for new skills, technology, or knowledge applicable to the laboratory and throughout the clinic to maintain quality testing and infrastructure flow.
+ Reviews policies and writes procedures as scheduled. Assists in the preparation for inspections and participates during inspection.
+ Consults with Lab leadership as needed. Acts on behalf of Lab leadership, as defined by CLIA.
+ Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

**Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:**
+ Associate's Transcript showing Medical Laboratory Technology degree or
+ Technical Certificate Transcript showing Medical Laboratory Technology degree
+ Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) Upon Hire or
+ Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 180 Days
+ Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Upon Hire or
+ Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Upon Hire or
+ MLS - American Medical Technologists (AMT) Upon Hire
+ X-Ray Operator - Licensing Board active in the state of practice Upon Hire
**Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:**
+ Bachelor's Transcript showing Medical Laboratory Science degree or
+ Bachelor's Transcript showing Medical Technology degree
+ Less than 1 year Related experience and/or training
