Supervisor Laboratory

At the Chase Medical Building, under the general direction of the Laboratory Director/Manager, the employee is responsible for the overall management of specimen collection, prepping for transportation to St Mary Medical Center hospital.   The supervisor has responsibility to ensure all procedures of the department are up to date, performed and followed according to regulatory and best practice guidelines.  Supervisor is responsible for efficient workflow, maintenance, and quality assurance within the department, and for quality improvement projects.  Has overall responsibility for all personnel matters to include hiring, coaching, and counseling, performance evaluations, competency assessments and progressive discipline up to and including termination in consultation with the Lab Director/Manager and Human Resources.  Responsibilities including assisting with annual budget and monitoring of financial indicators, which includes test volumes, revenues, operating expenses, and productivity.  Provides, orders, and maintains sufficient supplies and inventory.

Required qualifications:

upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification. upon hire: National Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology. Or upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists. Or upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts (Vendor Managed) Or upon hire: National Laboratory Tech - United States Government. 4 years Laboratory experience.

Preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Master's Degree. 1 year Supervisory/leadership experience
