Supervisor - Laboratory Quality Assurance

The Supervisor will provide guidance or interpretation of rules/regulations and develop responses to agencies at the guidance of the Lab Medical Director. This person will be responsible for implementing/sustaining a Quality System. Will ensure all procedures/policies are in place to meet CAP, CLIA, and FDA regulations. Will be the point person for the audits and inspections. Will monitor the document control system, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of the laboratory’s procedures/policies. Conduct internal inspections to assure compliance and effectiveness. Will recommend process changes to leadership team. Must have outstanding human relation skills in order to direct and influence all personnel toward quality goals. Must be able to work collaboratively with Consultants and Allied Health Staff both within the Department of Lab Medicine & Pathology (DLMP) as well as staff outside of the department. Incumbent will mentor, delegate, and manage the Quality Assurance Specialists and Coordinators. Must be able to identify, analyze, evaluate, and solve quality problems within the department. ****This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program**** **Qualifications** Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related field required. Minimum of five years of experience as a Medical Technologist or equivalent, based on specialty. Quality Management experience preferred. **Additional Skills and Qualifications:** Knowledge of laboratory compliance requirements for OSHA, CAP, CLIA and other regulatory agencies. Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems helpful. **License or Certification:** Must possess MT (ASCP) Certification or equivalent.
