Supervisor Materials Management
Overview

Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor of Materials Management to join a dynamic mining team. This role is pivotal to ensuring the efficient and effective management of materials essential to the mine’s operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics, with a keen understanding of the mining industry’s unique challenges. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to enhance material handling processes, optimize inventory levels, and support operational excellence within a leading mining operation.

Responsibilities

Uphold health and safety standards for both yourself and the team by following all relevant procedures in planning and task execution. Conduct inspections to meet MHSA regulations and company protocols. Foster a Zero Harm culture by strictly adhering to Health & Safety legislation and guidelines. Build and sustain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Supervise teams, suppliers, and partners to meet service-level agreements for effective support to the business. Oversee materials management functions in alignment with company policies and protocols. Coordinate warehouse and inventory processes to ensure uninterrupted business operations. Ensure accurate stock data within the materials management system, covering all reservations, received stock, and current inventory. Engage in audits of materials management processes, addressing any findings to uphold best practices and reduce risk.

Requirements

Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification. A Certificate or Diploma in Materials Management or a related field. Certification in storekeeping or store control. At least 5 years of experience in materials management, preferably in a mining setting. Demonstrated experience in warehouse oversight and stock control. Competency with Microsoft Office and SAP. Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities. Outstanding interpersonal skills for team-building and relationship management. High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage conflict, remain focused under pressure, and handle time efficiently. Required medical fitness as determined by a risk-based examination, including completion of a Heat Tolerance Screening test at the company’s Occupational Health Centre.
