Salary: 91,104.00-136,656.00 USD Facility: Sisters of Charity Hospital Shift: Shift 1 Status: Full Time FTE: 1.000000 Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: Yes Work Schedule: Days with Rotation to Eve/Nights Wknd and Holiday Rotation Hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm/3:00pm to 11:00pm/7:00pm to 3:00am Summary: The Maternal Child Nursing Supervisor, under the direction of the L&D/MBU Nurse Manager, is responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of patient care, planning, priority setting, coordination and evaluation of programs designed for the patient population in Labor and Delivery and Mother Baby Units. The Maternal Child Nurse Supervisor provides leadership and clinical support with 24-hour responsibility for the Human Resource, outcome management/performance, shared governance model, and unit practice councils. The Maternal Child Nurse Supervisor will focus on quality patient care and patient safety. The supervisor promotes a culture of fairness, respect, compassion and honesty, along with individual accountability, while ensuring that compliance to the standards of care of the department from all members of the team are being met. The supervisor works cohesively with the unit Nurse Manager. The Maternal Child Nurse Supervisor supports and assists with the implementation of new initiatives. The Maternal Child Nurse Supervisor will assume a charge nurse role or nursing assignment on the unit when needed. The Maternal Child Nurse Supervisor will assume leadership duties in the absence of the NM. Responsibilities: Educational Requirements: + Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. + Maintains a current New York State Professional RN License. + Bachelor Degree in Nursing required or must be actively enrolled in a BSN program within three (3) of assignment. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification validation required. + ANCC-Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required within one year. + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification validation within 6 months. + Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification validation required within 6 months. + Meets and is current and competent with all New York State licensure requirements, not limited to Infection Control and mandatory reporting. Experience Requirements: + 3 Years Labor and Delivery Experience + Charge Nurse, Managerial or Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Ability: + Excellent communication skills. + Demonstrated leadership ability with strong critical thinking skills. + Ability to perform technical aspects of job with unit-based equipment. + Computer literate with understanding of Microsoft products. + Ability to work in a high stress environment.
