We are looking for a dedicated Supervisor of Cardiovascular Services like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary of the Supervisor of Cardiovascular Services** **The Supervisor of Cardiology is responsible for the departments’ clinical and financial outcomes while maintaining responsibility for the direction, performance, and professional growth of the staff. The Supervisor acts as a representative of the Department Manager and Administration, provides for the framework of competent, cost-effective patient care, and actively addresses process improvement and service line development. The Supervisor of Cardiology practices and promotes superior guest relation skills and the maintenance of a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.** **Responsibilities of the Supervisor of Cardiovascular Services** + **Manage departmental operations** + **Ensure accuracy and completeness of paperwork for patient/employee incident reports and medication error reports and forwards reports to the Director/designee within 24 hours of incident.** + **Develop departmental Process Improvement plan, analyze/report data on a monthly and quarterly basis, and promote staff involvement in the PI plan.** + **Assist Director in budget development and track budgetary indicators on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.** + **Collaborate with staff and peers to resolve system problems and to build new product lines.** + **Interpret hospital/personnel policies to physicians, staff, patients, visitors, and other healthcare team members.** + **Assign additional duties to staff to promote optimal unit operations.** + **Maintain compliance with regulatory/accrediting agencies.** + **Ensure that Kronos is monitored and updated on a daily basis.** + **Develop departmental and procedural policies and procedures, initiate them, and review/update them as needed per standards of care and on a bi-annual basis.** + **Observe condition of facilities and take corrective action to solve existing or potential problems.** + **Maintain twenty-four hours, seven days a week, three hundred sixty-five days a year departmental coverage with department Director, including non-paid call coverage, unless relieved of duty by the Director (i.e. scheduled/unscheduled PTO).** + **Manage departmental personnel activities.** + **Facilitate staff development and orientation of new employees.** + **Coordinate student/preceptee and preceptor assignment and learning opportunities by assisting with placement.** + **Conduct behavioral interviews and then collaborate with Director on the hiring of new employees.** + **Work with Human Resources to ensure accuracy and completeness of job postings.** + **Develop departmental daily staffing and call schedule and issue it to the appropriate parties.** + **Track staff daily attendance and ensure that staff attend mandatory educational requirements.** + **Ensure that staff maintain their required licenses, registries, and certifications.** + **Complete annual/new hire employee performance appraisals and offer an optional mid-year review to employees.** + **Address employee behavioral issues/policy violations, counsel personnel, and write work improvement plans as needed.** + **Coordinate inter-and intra-departmental activities.** + **Conduct monthly departmental staff meetings in order to share and receive information.** + **Develop and serve on Process Improvement Teams to formulate new services and/or improve on existing services.** + **Expediently follow-up on customer (patient, family, visitors, physicians, staff, healthcare team members) concerns.** + **Facilitate departmental, facility, and partnership communication, acting as a resource for employees to stay informed on current and future happenings.** + **Ensure compliance with nursing/procedural standards of care and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration of care.** + **Monitor customer satisfaction and develop action plans when change is needed.** + **Develop a professional climate within the department** + **Act as an agent of change through role modeling and involving employees in the change process.** + **Maintain appropriate licensure, current BLS/ACLS, and professional growth through independent study and continuing education programs.** + **Provide educational opportunities for staff using various formats (staff meeting inservices, journal articles, etc.).** + **Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by Directors.** **Qualifications of the Supervisor of Cardiovascular Services** **EDUCATION:** + **Associate Degree** **EXPERIENCE:** + **3-7 years of experience in Diagnostic Imaging.** + **Documented experience demonstrating leadership, management, communication, interpersonal, and guest relation skills.** **LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:** + **Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer and/or Registered Vascular Technologist** + **Basic Cardiac Life Support** St. David's Medical Center (https://stdavids.com/location/st-davids-medical-center) is a full-service hospital located in central Austin, Texas.
