This position provides management oversight for Advocate at Home Durable Medical Equipment (HME) distribution services and some materials & warehousing functions. The incumbent is responsible for insuring performance to targets across Advocate Key Result Areas (KRA’s) for these functions. Specific areas of accountability include: patient order preparation & delivery, including dispatch & vehicle fleet management; equipment tracking; warehousing activities such as maintenance, sanitation, shipping and receiving; and assistance with inventory stock keeping. The incumbent is responsible for establishing a work environment that supports associates to attain the goals and objectives
Major Responsibilities:
Supervises and coordinates the delivery and service distribution functions including but not limited to Distribution Technician staff making deliveries to patient residences, HME & Respiratory dispatching, patient order picking & delivery preparation, outbound patient shipments made via common carrier, oversight of required and completed paperwork, offsite distribution & inventory to Advocate Aurora Hospitals, Physician offices and consignment closets, and ensuring structures are in place to monitor the flow of goods and materials and prevent bottlenecks and backlogs.
Collaborates with customer service & intake functions to ensure timely and accurate delivery of various patient supply & equipment orders
Analyzes and resolves logistical problems and issues during the course of regular operations including insuring route dispatching effectively meets efficiency and quality requirements.
Manages Delivery Vehicle Fleet for entire HME / RT vehicle flee. Manages vehicle maintenance program including vendor relationships for repairs and purchasing. Controls costs to operate within budget. Manages fleet functions including assisting with purchasing and selling of vehicles, preventative maintenance and repairs, compliance with all regulatory bodies (FDA, DOT), maintenance of all required documentation and vehicle utilization and cost reduction.
Manages general facility, warehousing & biomedical functions.
Collaborates with materials processing & inventory management functions
Develops and implements staff job training and competency methods to assess, improve and broaden staff skills.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Directly Supervises the selection, training and performance evaluation for all team members within the distribution department. Develops and recommends performance criteria for position descriptions within scope of responsibility and directly monitors employee performance and productivity. Encourages continual team member skill development and uses Advocate resources as well as others as appropriate to individual needs. Actively develops a positive work place culture where team members are valued, encouraged and supported to achieve excellence.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles (IL or WI based on location).
Education Required:
Associates Degree or equivalent experience plus HS/GED
Experience Required:
3-5 years in a prior front line supervisory role overseeing distribution, warehousing and compliance with DOT, FDA, HAZMAT,
5-7 years in Home Durable Medical Equipment (HME) distribution
•Ability to travel between customer residences, Advocate at Home and other •Advocate and Aurora site locations (HQ, hospitals, service offices, etc.)
•Ability to respond to emergency situations
•Ability to work in a warehouse setting, heavy lifting of 50 – 100 pounds occasionally and 10 – 50 pound consistently.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
·Must have manual dexterity to operate a variety of office and business equipment.
·Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods in order to analyze and prepare information.
·Must have the physical agility to move about in confined spaces, including bending, kneeling, squatting and occasionally reaching one or both arms over the head.
· Must be able to lift, push or pull 75 lbs.
·Must be able to maneuver up to 122 lbs on a dolly up and down ramp and/or stairs as needed.
·Must be able to speak and hear clearly to be able to communicate with people in person or over the telephone.
·Subject to occasional temperature and road fluctuations during required business travel or during warehouse/dock work.
· Subject to exposure to chemical and hazardous waste and communicable disease.
