$67,630.90 - $86,567.55 minimum starting salary

What You Will Be Doing:

Responsible for overseeing the accuracy of assumed and ceded reinsurance activities for all Shelter insurance Companies.  Ensures that reports, filings and documentation comply with company's guidelines, professional standards, and Statutory reporting rules.  Manages the reinsurance accounting staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.  Conducts analysis and provides assistance in solving or recording unique or unusual accounting transactions. Works with external auditors, regulatory examiners, and senior management to provide required information or answer questions. Maintains knowledge of statutory accounting standards.

What We're Looking For:

Must have strong analytic and practical problem-solving skills with evidence of organizational, decision-making, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with supervised personnel and other departments.Must be passionate to instruct, motivate, mentor and monitor professional staff with the ability to give appropriate feedback.Proven leadership and management skills and positive attitude with the ability to make consistent, sound and effective decisions with minimal direction.Ability to multitask with a variety of systems and processes and prioritize and delegate projects and workload.Ability to work additional hours to meet required deadlines during seasonal periods as necessary.Bachelors or Master's Degree in Accounting or related field.Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  Experience with Workday preferred.Typically requires minimum of two years' experience in a property and casualty insurance environment with experience in reinsurance preferred.Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
