We want your knowledge and expertise! **Job Summary and Qualifications** The Microbiology Supervisor performs, as needed, all technical, analytical, clerical, and quality assurance tasks and duties associated with microbiology testing to support patient care and accepts Tech In-Charge duties during a manager's absence. The incumbent acts as a resource and educator for other CLS personnel, other laboratory staff, and hospital personnel. The incumbent represents the department to accreditation and governmental surveyors. + You will demonstrate the ability to exercise responsible independent judgment, initiative, ability to complete assignments thoroughly without supervision, problem-solving capabilities in microbiology in a hospital setting. + You will develop and maintain technical/analytical knowledge and expertise in the specialty and acts as a resource. + You will maintain current knowledge of all applicable regulations and standards (CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, OSHA, etc.) and is able to effectively answer questions from surveyors. + You will provide leadership and guidance to other members of the healthcare team in the provision of patient care. What qualifications you will need: + Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) in Biological Sciences required + Current State of California Department of Health Services Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License required + Minimum One (1) year experience as a CLS II at Good Samaritan Hospital preferred. + Minimum two (2) years experience in microbiology lab required.
