Overview This position is remote hybrid with 1-2 days in office depending on needs of the department. Expected pay for this position is $26.99/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Access Supervisor works cooperatively with the Revenue Cycle leadership team to promote best practices and professional standards in direct correlation with the strategic initiatives of OSF Healthcare System. Supervisors are responsible for assisting with the overall departmental planning, improvement of patient service, evaluation of the department’s performance, and providing regular performance updates to the Patient Access Services Manager. This position oversees Patient Access Services personnel and functions of one or more of the following; including scheduling, pre-registration, outpatient registration, emergency room registration, inpatient and same day admissions, financial clearance, insurance eligibility, benefits verification, authorization/referral management, payor notification, cash collections, and financial counseling functions. Responsibilities include supervising and monitoring personnel daily, communicating regularly with staff, to identify opportunities to improve the patient experience, ensure adequate staffing to meet the business need, provide evaluations/feedback, carrying out organizational and departmental policies and procedures, and recruiting/retaining/training staff. Patient Access Supervisor demonstrates and holds their team accountable for excellent patient service in order to create an exceptional first impression of OSF’s services to the patients, families, and all other parties that OSF interacts with over the phone or in person. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience of 3 years in revenue cycle or medical office experience. Experience • 3 years’ experience in an office clerical setting or customer service environment. • 1 year direct experience in a healthcare revenue cycle or medical setting. • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. • Required to complete all revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare or related field preferred. Experience • 1 years of experience in a team lead, performance improvement, or leadership position. • Nationally recognized Revenue Cycle certification (NAHAM, AAHAM, HFMA).
