Overview The Patient Transport Supervisor directly manages the transport team for UF Health Shands. This position provides a smooth and efficient operation by coordinating the transport of patients throughout the system, and by providing needed supplies and equipment for functional use. The supervisor creates staffing schedules, manages call-ins/scheduling requests, and facilitates communication and engagement via huddles with the team. Staff evaluations are initiated and completed by the supervisor following management review. The supervisor actively promotes team building, engagement and professional, effective communications between intra- and inter-departmental co-workers. Scheduled rounds are completed by the supervisor to ensure standards and adherence to patient transport practices are met. The Patient Transport Supervisor contributes to effective staffing by assisting with transport duties when necessary, so that standards and workflow remain uninterrupted. Staff evaluations are completed and administrated in collaboration with the Patient Transport Manager. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: HS diploma/GED. Requires two years of supervisory/lead experience in a large organization, with one year in Patient Transport required. Prefer 3 years prior supervisory experience in a healthcare facility. Prior experience must demonstrate the ability to respond to unexpected situations in a calm and productive manner, prioritizing the well-being of patients. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a �non-frequent driver� Licensure/Certification/Registration: NA
