Summary
Supervises the activities of the Pharmacy staff. Assumes responsibility for adequately staffing the pharmacy department and pharmacy productivity. Coordinates the performance evaluation process and quality assurance activities. Coordinates the performance evaluation process and quality assurance activities. Acts as a liaison between the pharmacy's technical staff, upper pharmacy management, and other disciplines.

Job DutiesCollaborates with Pharmacy Leadership and others within the department to monitor, maintain, and improve operational efficiency of the department. Assumes staffing responsibilities in the role of the pharmacist to ensure smooth operation of the pharmacy. Develops schedules, conducts annual evaluations, provides orientation, offers counseling, interviews candidates, approves time cards, and hires and discipline employees. Identifies areas for improvement and establishes process change. Engages staff to participate in all aspects of department improvement. Ensures compliance to USP 797 and USP 800 and other pertinent sterile compounding regulations. Other responsibilities as assigned
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED 5 years Relevant pharmacy experience Demonstrates ability to direct pharmacy staff and to address scheduling, productivity, and personnel problems or questions in a positive manner. Working knowledge of inventory systems used with the department Leadership skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of current pharmacy practice and regulations CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania
Preferred Qualifications1 year in either Lead Technician or Coordinator position CSPT - Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
