Summary
Oversees the daily function of Procurement for both stock and non-stock purchases. Directs Purchasing Agents to address priorities based on workload and staffing. Schedules staff based on projects, priorities and patient care needs. Performs a wide range of assignments which include processing purchasing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, proactively providing accurate information for supply chain management (SCM) databases in support of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Manages multiple priorities and projects and produces accurate, timely, and quality work.
Job DutiesReceives order acknowledgments for each purchase order (PO), and informs internal customers of any anticipated delays. Manages vendors to mitigate delayed shipments and ensure the contract pricing is appropriately applied. Develops information for the supply chain management (SCM) databases in support of the Workday enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Manages the procurement process for all products and services and communicates outcomes to departments and vendors. Secures cost savings by price reduction, reducing freight charges, cost avoidance, quantity buy offers, and monitors a smooth payment process. Applies technology to streamline work processes, reduce turnaround time, and create more effective workflow. Manages patient-specific requests on product research, sourcing, price confirmation, and expediting. Expedites and investigates problems relating to purchases, back-orders, and damage and takes corrective action as needed.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business or High School Diploma/GED and 7 years' experience in Supply Chain, Procurement or Inventory. 2 years in Supply Chain, Procurement, Inventory, or related field. Ability to successfully process purchase orders in multiple systems. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret requests, and communicate effectively regarding solutions and next steps. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of leaders, customers, colleagues, and suppliers. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Demonstrates proficiency in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting supplies to meet end users' requirements with a focus on quality, service, and cost. Familiarity with medical terminology and medical supplies. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, inventory, and internet software, and PC hardware.
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
