THE JOB:

The Race and Sports Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Race and Sports Book during their shift or when the Race and Sports Book Shift Manager is unavailable. This role ensures all activities are conducted in alignment with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Leadership & Training: Opportunities to assist, train, and lead Race and Sports Mutuel Clerks, fostering skill development and teamwork.

Guest Services Approvals: Authorization to approve complimentary items and over-limit wagers for valued guests.

Shift Close-Out Procedures: Ensure writers are properly closed out at shift end, with secure transfer of funds to the main cage.

BetMGM Mobile Enrollment: Facilitate mobile enrollment for BetMGM, enhancing customer convenience.

Customer Guidance: Provide clear explanations of betting lines and odds, ensuring customers are well-informed.

Departmental Support: Perform all duties necessary to contribute to the success of the department.

Disciplinary Actions: Issue disciplinary measures as directed by the Sports Book Manager or Director.

Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as requested.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within a resort setting.

Availability: Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrates a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service, with the ability to effectively address guest needs and enhance their experience.

Proactive Leadership: Leads by example, proactively supporting team members and promoting a positive, collaborative work environment.

Clear Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally with both guests and team members, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Problem Solving: Skilled at quickly assessing and resolving guest or team-related issues, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
