Short DescriptionThe Supervisor is responsible for ensuring annual competencies/appraisals, required certifications, and ongoing continuing education for respiratory care practioners (RCP) under their direct report. Duties include daily supervision of respiratory care personnel, coordination of daily operations, and professional communication with the health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. Acts in the absentia of the department manager or Director as needed. Supervisor is accountable for expected knowledge, skills and competencies for neonate to geriatric patients.
Responsible to organize staff work schedules, clinical rotations, and employee performance evaluations. Supervise all shift activities relative to clinical practice and personnel.
5 Years Clinical experience and 2 Years of Critical experience.
Education RequirementsGraduate of an CoARC approved registered respiratory therapy program. Bachelor’s Degree required
License/Certification RequirementsNJ State Respiratory Practitioner License (RCP). Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Graduate of Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Care program.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
Special RequirementsSpecialty credentials preferred. Eg ACCS, NPS, AE-C, Trauma experience and neonatal care experience is preferred. Working in a fast-paced environment and with a large team preferred.
