Position Summary

Provides leadership and management of retail food service operations including oversight of guest relations associates and barista staff across multiple coffee stand locations. Displays customer service skills, achieves excellence in food service sales, costs and profit enhancements. Organizes, directs and schedules staff with a wide range of Food Service activities to accomplish the customer experience goals and objectives of the organization. Communicates effectively with other leaders to achieve retail, scheduling, and production requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

•    Follows and enforces system wide safety and service standards, ensures policies are followed

•    Functions as system administrator for the point of sale software, maintains retail equipment including espresso machines, responsible for other equipment applicable to the retail setting

•    Initiates quality projects on an ongoing basis to improve customer and employee experience 

•    Responsible for the efficient operation, cleanliness, and organization of the café retail area and coffee stands. Reviews and manages inventory for retail and coffee stands 

•    Ensures hospitality staff members follow hospital policy and procedures designed to promote patient safety and reduce health care related injuries

•    Responsible for ensuring staff follow the proper guidelines for body mechanics, hazardous materials and standard precautions to avoid personnel accidents and injuries

•    Manages all activities related to production, sanitation and/or patient meal services in the absence of other departmental management

•    Travels by personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement in alignment with current KH policy) to assigned coffee stand locations

•    Performs other related duties as assigned

•    Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field 

•    Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

•    Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function

•    Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

 

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

•    Associate degree required; 2 years’ related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

•    Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, food services technology management, hospitality services, or other related field preferred

•    3 years’ progressive food experience required in addition to education requirement

•    2 years’ leadership experience in retail food services preferred

•    Prior experience overseeing operations of multiple locations preferred

•    Driving record will be checked upon hire and annually for travel to offsite coffee stand locations

 

Working Conditions

•    Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs

•    Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position 

•    Typical equipment used in an office job

•    Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend

•    Travel required on a regular basis to assigned work sites
