Supervisor SCM Clinical Inventory - Surgical Material Management
*POSITION SUMMARY* The Supervisor of Clinical Inventory is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Clinical Inventory management within the procedural departments of Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology Lab, Endovascular and Surgical Services at Holmes Regional Medical Center. The Supervisor of Clinical Inventory will provide leadership to staff in processing receipt, inventory, and storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner. The Supervisor of Clinical Inventory will assist clinical departments through action and education to achieve product standardization, optimum inventory levels, and reduction of operating expenses, including expired products or expedited shipping fees. *PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES* 1. Supervises the staff that are responsible for clinical inventory management. 2. Works with physicians and clinical leaders to select/maintain appropriate inventory levels to drive desired inventory turns. 3. Assists with product evaluation, conversions, and changes to consigned inventory. 4. Facilitates urgent and emergent supply needs and provides clear and effective communication to clinical staff and supply chain leaders. 5. Monitors contract compliance to drive financial stewardship and ensure requests for new products are communicated to clinical leadership for review. 6. Enforces policy for dated product handling, ensures appropriate procedures are adhered to regarding product rotation and reviews performance for appropriate stocking levels. 7. Attends or supports daily huddles and communicates procedural schedules/changes, inventory challenges and supply chain initiatives to clinical leaders and direct reports. 8. Fosters parameters for cost containment of inventory; assists departmental managers in conducting inventory management and performing audit procedures. 9. Develops an in-depth knowledge of current equipment needs for all service lines and communicates knowledge to staff and physicians about product lines. 10. Interprets organizational goals, objectives and operational plans regarding inventory to staff; assists managers in developing related policies and procedures. 11. Promotes interdepartmental relationships with positive interactive skills, and maintains a professional, team-oriented working environment. 12. Conducts associate training and coordinates with Medicaid Management Information System(MMIS) on interface or systematic problems. Monitors all open issues to ensure correction or system updates. *LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES* 1. Contribute to and support the strategic direction, and demonstrate financial acumen, for areas of responsibility and organization. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* * Education: Associate’s degree in Materials Management, Logistics, Business, Nursing, or related field. * Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience of related experience. * Licensure: None * Certification: None * Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: o Must have demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management functions to include shipping, receiving, inventory management, warehouse storage, distribution and regulations and safety related requirements. o Must have demonstrated knowledge of service lines, vendors, and products used in procedures. o Persistent attention to detail to formulate effective solutions to complex problems. o Great Communication Skills in both verbal and written communication. Able to speak to all levels of staff, vendor and employee and physician customers. o Prioritize and balance work projects and demands, able to work under pressure and meet planned, unplanned, changing, or inflexible deadlines. o Knowledge of LEAN or another model to identify opportunities for improvement to achieve goal and/or outcome. o Ability to analyze complex tasks, systems and problems to work towards desired goal, objective or outcome with minimal supervisor/oversight. o Ability to work closely with multiple departments including Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology, Surgical Services, Clinical Engineering, Infection Prevention, Quality and Supply Chain. *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Logistics, Business, Nursing, or related field. * Work Experience: Five (5) years' experience as a supervisor in clinical inventory management setting. * Licensure: o Current Radiology Technologist (RT) in the State of Florida. o Current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Licensure in the State of Florida. o Current RN Licensure in the State of Florida or endorsement. * Certification: Certified Materials Resource Professional (CRMP). *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* * Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently. * May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. * May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead. * May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. * May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise. * May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines. * Communicating with others to exchange information. * Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. * Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite or remote. * May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle. *ABOUT HEALTH FIRST* At Health First, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
