Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose

The Supervisor of Security primary objective will be to provide leadership for the security department,  maintain a safe, secure and threat free environment. The Supervisor shall assist with providing a framework for the successful implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive security program. 

The supervisor is responsible for managing and directing Security personnel on assigned shifts. Ensures that security personnel perform their assigned duties related to ensuring the security and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors. 

He or she will assist with design, development and coordination of activities of the Security staff in protecting the safety and security of employees, contractors,visitors, and assets. Assist with the Development and implementation of the Security Management Plan, post orders and assists with managing, and coordinating responses to critical incidents. Reviews, identifies, and addresses actual and potential security breaches. Helps implement security awareness programs.

Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesManages and coordinates responses to critical incidents. Monitors and documents actual and potential security breaches. Ensures delivery of quality services; regulatory compliance, manages operations efficiently and effectively to achieve service and revenue objectives Conducts ongoing security orientation and training of staff and serves as Training Officer Able to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level. Maintains a comprehensive inspection, test and maintenance program for all security physical and electronic technology. Follow up on pending security issues. Demonstrates breadth and/or depth of professional/technical skills and capabilities required for position.Shares knowledge; sets or contributes to the Company’s direction within an area of expertise. Knowledge of procedures and programs in place in the organization to ensure employee safety (occupational health, fire safety and emergency response plan); ability to take appropriate and immediate actions in case of an emergency. Knowledge of tools, techniques and technologies to ensure premises security; ability to undertake risk assessment and ensure the safety of life and property. Manages collaboratively and coaches others to achieve optimal performance; delegates effectively; praises/rewards contributions; defines clear roles and responsibilities; sets goals and leads initiatives; adjusts plans as necessary. Oversight of parking enforcement.Ensure that the customer's perspective is a driving force behind your actions and business decisions. Crafting and implementing service practices that meet the customers, and organization’s needs. (Focus also includes internal and external customers) Keeping the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.Initiates the integration of additional security programs, and services as needed Implements requirements of the Security Management Plan, and post orders. Monitors existing security systems and technologies for possible security breaches or fraud. Interacts with others in a way that gives them confidence in one’s intentions and those of the organization. Knowledge of techniques, equipment and processes to ensure personnel security; ability to implement the measures necessary to safeguard employees, and visitors. Knowledge of information, personnel and premises security processes and procedures; ability to develop and maintain appropriate security levels. Familiar with external vendors, service providers, contractors and others who conduct business and or support facility services. Will escort and provide access to secure areas of the facility and ground as appropriate. Understanding the need to carefully evaluate the impact of incidents and emergency situations and choose the best path forward and ability to select and assertively communicate actions and activities that maximize security response. Must be able to work various shifts as needed on short notice


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalentSix (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting orLaw enforcement or military service; orOne (1) year experience as a security officer.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Current driver’s license issued by the state wherein the position is posted with satisfactory.Able to provide a DMV report if requested within 30 days of hire for facilities which require the position to operate a motor vehicle.Current state issued guard card/license, showing no disciplinary actions, in states where required.
