Supervisor-Social Work

MH: Case Management and Social- (Full Time, Varied Shifts)-

Job Summary: The Supervisor-Social Work supports the Director of Case Management in clinical, administrative, human resource, and financial management of hospital social work services. Assists with development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive and fiscally sound social services program and orchestrates cohesive patient care practices which address the psychosocial needs of the patients from admission through discharge and across the continuum of care. Ensures departmental operations are aligned with the goals, objectives, and key initiatives of the organization's strategic plan. Demonstrates principled leadership that supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Maintains working knowledge of all applicable state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and national standards of practice. Mentors staff, fosters patient-centered care, and oversees education, training, and development of social work staff. 

Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) required. Three years of acute care social work experience required. One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Ability to use discretion and maintain privacy, confidentiality, or anonymity. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).  Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.  Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.  Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the state of California required.
