Supervisor Telecommunications

Downer has been selected to take part in a national programme of the design and construction of fibre deeper into selected Fibre to the Node (FTTN) network areas. The extension of fibre within these FTTN areas will allow premises to place orders for higher speed services via a Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) connection. With project offices based in Hexham, NSW and Canning Vale, WA, the teams are undertaking Design and Construction activities in these states.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking experienced Supervisors to join the N2P Evolution project team. These roles require significant travel, to service the regions of the North Coast, Mid-North Coast, New England and Central Tablelands in NSW. Ideally, you'll reside in the region in order to meet this requirement otherwise a 10/4 roster will apply. 

Responsible for supervising our Construction Partners, you will ensure delivery of ticket of work and project works are on-time and to schedule as well as monitoring quality. Previous experience in a similar role combined with a collaborative leadership style will ensure your success in this position.

ABOUT YOU

Demonstrated experience as a Supervisor within the telecommunications and civil construction industries Effective leadership of Construction Partners with an uncompromising commitment to safety; dedicated to ensuring compliance at all times to site Safety and Environmental Management plans in consultation with the safety team to achieve "Zero Harm" Strong understanding of the telecommunications Pit & Pipe Network combined with working knowledge of fibre optic networks Prior experience with field/scoping requirements, including conducting exchange and street communications network surveys and customer end surveys Must be physically fit and able to walk up to 5 km’s per day and undertake heavy lifting up to 30 kilograms Effective verbal and written skills including producing reports and paperwork on construction activities including prestart and quality checks.
