The Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) of Rising Ground understands the importance of removing barriers to care and providing trauma-informed services. Through this dedication, the TRC aims to transform services for survivors of violent crime. Rising Ground’s TRC is designed to help victims of violent crimes overcome barriers to accessing mental health treatment, health care, and legal resources in the acute aftermath of trauma. The TRC serves recent victims of violent crime, including survivors of physical assault, sexual assault, gun violence, stabbings, domestic violence and human trafficking. The Trauma Recovery Center facilitates healing for survivors of trauma, violence, and loss through an innovative model that blends comprehensive care, advocacy and outreach.
The Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) Supervisor will provide clinical supervision to the TRC therapists and case managers ensuring that staff provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive services to survivors of violence, crime and acute trauma. This role will support therapists in delivering evidence-based practices such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and adherence to the National Alliance of Trauma Recovery Centers (NATRC) model/structure.
The ideal candidate will bring a passion for social justice and anti-oppressive practice, ample experience providing clinical services to survivors of trauma, and a desire to work collaboratively with a creative and committed team of advocates and clinicians. They will have demonstrated experience providing reflective clinical supervision, as well as supporting staff in the implementation of evidence-based trauma interventions. In this role, the Supervisor will maintain a flexible approach to meet the dynamic needs of the program and community. They will be involved in program development, staff development, training, and licensure support for clinicians. The Supervisor will uphold the values of inclusivity, cultural humility, and restorative justice, ensuring clients receive comprehensive, holistic care that integrates mental health, physical health, psychosocial services, and legal advocacy.
Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision, training and leadership to therapists and case managers on evidence-based practices, including EMDR, IFS, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and TF-CBT.Assists in resolving complex clinical and case management issues.Conducts one-on-one supervisory sessions for clinical staff, case management and interns.Works collaboratively with faculty of sponsoring educational institutions to train and evaluate interns.Manages the performance of paid staff; assesses training and development needs of staff; assists with in-service training; evaluates job performance.Ensures that staff has the necessary support to respond to client needs and responds to work-related stress of staff and interns.Conducts clinical intakes of new clients using a trauma-informed approach.Provides trauma-informed, short-term individual and group psychotherapy and comprehensive clinical case management.Facilitates coordination of services among various agencies; advocates for and links clients to necessary services.Assists with U-Visas, psychological asylum evaluations, and advocates for victims of crime through liaison work with the District Attorney's Office and Police Department.Carry a caseload of therapy clients as needed.May visit clients at home or in the community for outreach and follow-up if clients cannot keep scheduled appointments.Ensures that staff appropriately counsel and engage clients, aiding them in accessing resources (legal, social, housing, educational, employment, etc.).Maintains client records according to program requirements and standards.Completes productivity forms, clinical documentation, and other paperwork promptly.Works collaboratively with the TRC Research Team for data collection and program evaluation.Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), or a related field (LCSW, LMSW, or LMHC preferred).SIFI certification (or eligible for SIFI certification)Bilingual in English/Haitian Creole or Spanish preferred.Licensure required within 6 months of hire with required experience qualification met.Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience in trauma-informed care, with at least 2 years of Strong and diverse clinical and supervisory experience.Experience with conducting assessments and formulating DSM-5 diagnoses.Training in evidence-based practices including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Childhood Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parenting Journey and/or other evidence based practices designed to support survivors of trauma.Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and restorative justice practices.Strong leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative and flexible approach to management.Experience working with marginalized populations and a deep commitment to social justice.A passion for incorporating reflective practices on race, oppression, and diversity into clinical work, fostering a more inclusive and healing environment.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary settingDynamic understanding of trauma and violence and how it impacts survivors.Commitment to trauma-informed and person-centered practice.Strong organizational skills, adaptability and flexibility within independent and collaborative work.Ability to work flexible hours

Work Environment:
Hybrid (In-office and remote), with flexibility to meet clients at various community locations or virtually. This position will be based out of our East Flatbush, Brooklyn location, with the opportunity to work from our Brooklyn(Jay Metrotech) office and opportunity for a remote/hybrid schedule.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday 9am-5pm
Travel (if required): Travel within NYC to attend community meetings, client visits, and outreach event.
