Oversees subordinate Accounting Technicians, or through subordinate Lead Accounting Technicians, oversees the accomplishment of technical work in accordance with policy, directives, regulations, and reporting requirements. Interprets regulations, requirements, and policies, including changes, updates, and automated systems modifications, to ensure compliance. Trains and assists lower level accounting technicians with techniques to correct and process accounting inputs. Plans and schedules work to be accomplished; sets and adjusts short-term priorities for completion of work. Assists in implementing and maintaining Internal Control Program requirements to protect against waste, fraud, and abuse. Specialized Experience Is Defined As: Knowledge of accounting systems, policies and procedures of the examination, verification and maintenance of accounts and accounting data; Validating, monitoring and maintaining accounting transactions and accounting records; Reconciling subsidiary ledgers to general ledgers for accounts; Researching discrepancies and making adjustments.
