SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER (INSTRUCTOR)
Summary This SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER (INSTRUCTOR) position is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) flying wing and is part of the CA 146 AW. Responsibilities THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER (INSTRUCTOR), GS-2185-11, is to serve as a first level supervisor over subordinate loadmasters and as an aircrew member. Plans, directs, and manages operational and training matters pertaining to assigned loadmasters. In addition, performs aircrew duties as an instructor loadmaster in the unit type aircraft (C-17, C-32 and C-130 Series aircraft). May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance. Requirements Conditions of Employment CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration: Priority consideration is first given to the areas below. AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment. AREA II= Current California National Guard members. Military Grades: E-7 or E-8 Must maintain appropriate level of secret security clearance. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must attain and maintain mission-ready status at the appropriate crew qualification level in the unit's assigned aircraft. Periodically, as prescribed by regulations, must take and pass written and in flight standardization evaluation examinations to include random no notice evaluations. The incumbent is exposed to physiological hazards of flight plus physical and psychological demands of routine lengthy missions (up to 24 hours duration), must work in confined, hazardous noise areas, is subject to inclement weather during ground operations and dangerous environmental conditions during flight, and may operate in austere location. Must be instructor qualified, maintaining proficiency in the Principles of Instruction. Required to maintain proficiency in the use of firearms. As prescribed by regulation, may be required to carry and use a concealed weapon while performing aircrew related duties. Qualifications General Experience: Experience in functions such as preparing aircraft loading plans, loading and offloading aircraft, operating loading equipment, and ensuring security of cargo in flight. SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER (INSTRUCTOR), GS-2185-11: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-10 level experience in ensuring metrics are established and monitored to assess key result areas for successful mission accomplishment including, but not limited to, items where non-compliance would affect system reliability or result in serious injury, loss of life, excessive cost, or litigation; Experience managing the Loadmaster Standardization evaluation program; Experience developing and providing instruction on MAFFS, fire behavior and inflight MAFF duties to US as well as foreign nationals.
