SUPERVISORY DIVER PROJECT ZONE COORDINATOR
Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY DIVER PROJECT ZONE COORDINATOR in the Diver Operations Branch (Code 971A), Diving Division (Code 970), Production Department (Code 900) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR. Responsibilities You will plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise all work within the assigned work package. You will review, approve, and direct work operations in the execution of the assigned zone of work. You will determine total resource requirements and allocation based on schedules and work sequences which often change significantly from year to year. You will coordinate with inside shops, ship's force and various MARMC departments for scheduling and completion of work and key events such as systems testing. You will ensure safe work practices are followed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience reviewing, approving and directing work operations in the execution of the assigned zone of work, (rigging/diving electrical, or piping) which is subject to frequently changing work situations. Experience coordinating with inside shops, ship's force and various MARMC departments for scheduling and completion of work and key events, such as systems testing. Experience taking necessary actions to achieve cost and schedule commitments. Experience planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work; assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Experience implementing comprehensive knowledge of and skill in applying a range of principles, concepts and practices, production trade and technical methods, procedures, materials and processes associated with the repair and overhaul of complex Navy vessels. Experience investigating and analyzing practices, and problems to initiate effective improvements and solutions. Experience in oral and written communication and ability to apply those skills in coordination and problem solving efforts within the command. Experience keeping abreast of trade, technical, and administrative developments related to ship repair. Ensures only authorized work is undertaken.
