Summary This job opportunity is for an SUPERVISORY EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, position description D1253000, within the SMMO of the New Jersey Army National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The purpose of this position is to provide instruction and assistance to state unit personnel regarding Army National Guard (ARNG) equipment and maintenance management. Responsibilities As an SUPERVISORY EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, GS-1670-11, you will: Supervise, instruct, and train subordinates in the performance of work. Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and management of the surface equipment materiel readiness program and training of maintenance personnel. Develop and direct implementation of mission support plans for new weapon systems or equipment entering the state's inventory for their impact on the surface maintenance community. May serve as a member of the State Readiness Committee and as Chief of the MAIT. Performs other duties as assigned. Military Grades: Min rank: WO1 to Max rank: CW3 Additional Employment Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Qualifications General Experience: Knowledge of standard shop terminology Mechanical principles relating to equipment Ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical publications Repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment Using computer and automation systems Specialized Experience: Must have 36 months of the following experience(s): overseeing and implementing a program involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues or problems in a maintenance function preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, new construction alteration projects, replacement of existing equipment, or increase in services and processes to ensure program effectiveness.
