SUPERVISORY FACILITY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist in the JBPHH Facilities/Environmental office of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time Responsibilities You will manage a group of employees by providing direction and issuing assignments, answer questions concerning procedures/policies, demonstrate proper work methods, evaluate performance, address grievances and complaints, etc. You will provide guidance to stakeholders/customers on processes such as requesting work, funding jobs, and address related policies in regard to facilities maintenance. You will apply understanding of facility administration/maintenance principles and techniques to determine condition of facilities and provide initial diagnosis of facility problems. You will gather, review, scope and cost estimate requirements of a job/project and facilitate the induction of work. You will provide periodic review of work efforts in order to monitor the progression of work and brief stakeholders/customers. You will use software modules (e.g. MAXIMO) to keep track of inventory of assigned buildings, inspect and validate inputted data, etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading, managing, or training others in maintaining and operating facilities to meet an organization's mission requirements. 2) Applying technical principles, directives, and methods of facilities management to maintain facilities and facility assets in good working order. 3) Identifying, prioritizing, and initiating projects to be placed on Maintenance Action Plans (MAPs), Maintenance Execution Plans (MEPs), or Long-Range Maintenance Plans (LRMPs) for assigned facilities; and 4) Solving work problems and providing direction to others to ensure execution of major facilities operations by establishing assignments, instructions, priorities, and deadlines. Education Additional Information You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. This position may be job sited. The employee may be required to report for work at a location other than a permanently assigned location. The employee may be required to work overtime and is subject to call back. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
