SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER
Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION of NB SAN DIEGO. Responsibilities You will administer a Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QA/IP) aimed at improving an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. You will coordinate emergency medical services (EMS) related training activities for EMS personnel. You will manage the emergency medical training to ensure firefighters are current with their Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) training. You will assign work to junior firefighters or employees based on priorities, requirements, and capabilities. You will manage the development and implementation of an emergency medical services risk management plan. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention; (2) Controlling or extinguishing aircraft, structural and shipboard fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department; and (3) Detection, reduction, or elimination of potential fire hazards. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. Certification Requirements: The position requires the following accredited certifications: Fire Officer I, II, & III, Fire Inspector I & II, Fire Instructor I & II, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter. **These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions for extended periods of time. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
