SUPERVISORY FOOD AND BEVERAGE SPECIALIST-DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY

The primary purpose of this position is to plan, facilitate and execute teams and projects within all Food and Beverage operations within FSS. Responsibilities For additional information on direct hire opportunities with the Air Force please click here. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Conducts leverages, formal, informal, and special evaluations of food activities and procedures to ensure high standards of food and beverages, and special events operations utilizing systems and programs such as the Air Force Management Internal Control Tool (MICT) or equivalent. Monitors food safety/sanitation practices and provides input to managers and supervisor on a routine basis. Establishes review systems for the organization that makes certain government needs are met and validated, and that economy and quality of operations are maintained or improved. Provides daily oversight of force support and contracted operations. Ensures contractor(s) tracks gains and losses of Essential Station Messing (ESM) roster within appropriate system(s) and serves as a backup in the absence of contractor(s). Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of Installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other base organizations, senior leadership, representatives from other military services, Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and community service related civilian organizations regarding services provided. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: hospitality, food and beverage, and developing contracts to support business operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): 1 . Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: hospitality, food and beverage, and developing contracts to support business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage. 2. Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques. 3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing available community resources within the program framework to augment the program to meet installation objectives. 5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. 6. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
