Summary About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Special Staff, Office of the Inspector General and it is located in Falls Church, VA. OR This position may be filled virtually, at any duty location. Responsibilities Responsible for direct supervision of investigators conducting complex Military Whistleblower Reprisal investigations subject to stringent Department of Defense Inspector General (DoD IG) deadlines and standards. Conduct inquiries, investigations, or other projects as directed by the Director, Investigations, DHA Office of the Inspector General (OIG), DHA IG or the Director, DHA as the Agency Directing Authority or as delegated. Review and provide expertise to complete complex reports of investigation at the executive level into allegations of Military Whistleblower Reprisal allegations and other allegations in support of the Department of Defense IG. Manage the work performance of all assigned personnel. Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes conducting investigations into Military Whistleblower Reprisal allegations; managing activities; and creating reports such as, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations in support of the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Salary range posted does not include any locality pay. Locality pay will be added to the salary once the duty location is established.
