Summary This position is located in the Logistics Division of the Mission Support Line of Business of the Defense Media Activity (DMA) at Fort Meade, MD. Responsibilities As a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist at the GS-0346-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Presents analysis and proposals to all levels of management within the organization and external agencies, advising on new policies and processes, explaining alternative options, and recommending solutions to complex issues. Assists in developing and managing Inter-Service Support Agreements (ISSA), Second Destination Transportation (SDT) requirements, tracking transportation requirements, and initiates/performs logistical management controls within DMA Command Inspection Program (CIP). Administers an effective personnel program. Makes or recommends personnel selections, hears employee grievances and complaints, counsels' employees and initiates disciplinary actions, recommends training for employees, and ensures training is provided. This position directs subordinate civilian personnel with workloads comparable to GS-12, who provide logistic services world-wide. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Consolidating, standardizing, overseeing of property records and inventory accounts for a large, global, organization. Evaluating, planning, coordinating, managing and directing assigned logistics functions and associated programs world-wide. Developing and managing enterprise policy, plans, and operations including supply and storage, disposal and reutilization, property accountability, distribution, transportation, fleet management and life cycle management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
