Summary About the Position: This Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot position is located at White Sands Test Center, Army Air Flight Det Operations Branch, with duty location of Holloman AFB, NM. (merit). Responsibilities Serve as a Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot Utility Helicopter (UH), UH-60. Provide recommendations to aircraft personnel to assure proper performance of maintenance within established quality standards. Conduct maintenance test flights on aircraft to include items such as engine(s), power train, flight controls, hydraulics, electrical, stabilization, navigational and communications systems. Assist in writing standard operating procedures for the aircraft maintenance staff. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) provide training for maintenance of helicopters for personnel; AND 2) manage the suitability of aircraft components or systems for a flight activity/aviation program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11). Minimum eligibility requirements: Possession of the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates, and/or military rating, meeting the applicable flight hour requirements, and possession of the knowledge and skills required for the position.
