Summary About the Position: This Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot position is located at White Sands Test Center, Army Air Flight Det Operations Branch, with duty location of Holloman AFB, NM. The Range provides Army, Navy, Air Force, DoD, and other customers with high quality services for experimentation, test, research, assessment, development, and training in support of the Nation. (merit). Responsibilities Serve as a Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot Utility Helicopter (UH), UH-60. Provide recommendations to aircraft personnel to assure proper performance of maintenance within established quality standards. Conduct maintenance test flights on aircraft to include items such as engine(s), power train, flight controls, hydraulics, electrical, stabilization, navigational and communications systems. Assist in writing standard operating procedures for the aircraft maintenance staff. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) provide training for maintenance of helicopters for personnel; AND 2) manage the suitability of aircraft components or systems for a flight activity/aviation program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11). Minimum eligibility requirements: Possession of the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates, and/or military rating, meeting the applicable flight hour requirements, and possession of the knowledge and skills required for the position. Certificates/Military ratings and flight hours MUST BE in the body of the resume. Your application packet must include a copy of certificates/military ratings and flight records. Flight hour requirements: Total flight time 1500 hours; Pilot in Command 250 hours; Night flying 75 hours; Last 12 months 100 hours; Multi-engine Rotary Wing 500 hours; Instrument 75 hours.
