Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the Nuclear Facilities and Waste Management Division, Code 2380 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Responsibilities You will do structural analysis and calculations of structures and components. You will act as primary consultant in repair and maintenance of components and systems within areas of responsibility. You will develop broad inspection requirements, special process specifications, special tools and facilities and prescribes working conditions for jobs within areas of responsibility. You will Performs liaison functions within and outside the Shipyard. You will participate with the Division Head in developing training programs for Shipyard personnel and for Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department staff. Conducts classes and presents lectures on subjects within specialty. You will serve as the Shipyard specialist in nuclear engineering in the area of fluid systems and related components for nuclear power plants. You will provide administrative and technical supervision to an assigned subordinate group of engineers and nuclear engineering technicians. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Nuclear Engineer applying radiological controls principles and requirements to repair, modify, test, maintain, and installation of fluid systems and mechanical components of nuclear reactor plants for the operational readiness of ships overhauled or repaired at NAVSEA, and to meet the global national security requirements. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
