Summary About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Medical Readiness Command, West, Headquarters, located Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, Texas. Medical Readiness Command, West headquarters is located in beautiful and historic San Antonio and is within easy commuting distance of desirable neighborhoods and excellent school systems. San Antonio offers mild winters, low cost of living, and no personal state income tax. Responsibilities Utilizes a broad technical knowledge of current medical operational and readiness requirements coupled with administrative and managerial skills to plan, develop, and implement elements of the command’s current medical operations. Provides definitive guidance to subordinate medical treatment facilities, Public Health Command and Dental Command subordinate units on: AT Site Support Program SIR/CCIR inquiries and follow-ups and current operations daily business practices. Principle assistant to the Chief Current Operations on day-to-day medical plans, operations, training and readiness of the Medical Readiness Command. Will serve as the Annual Training (AT) site support point of contact within the Medical Readiness Command (MRC) for all subordinate activities and all Reserve Component (RC) units training within the MRC area of operations. Maintain readiness programs such as the Annual Training Program, Incident Reports program, and current Operations daily functions including writing and executing of Operations Orders, Warning Orders, and Fragmentary Orders. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes integration of work whereas each contributes a portion of the analyzes, facts, or recommendations and ensuring compatibility and consistency of interpretation, judgment, logic, and application of policy; recommending military medical resources to devote to particular projects or program segments; evaluating and implementing processes and procedures to improve military medical healthcare effectiveness, efficiency and productivity; and reviewing and approving the substance of reports, decision documents or other action documents to assure that they accurately reflect medical health policies and program goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Oral Communication Requirements Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
