Supervisory Plans Officer
Summary About the Position: Serve as Supervisory Plans Officer for the HQS, First Army, G-5 Plans Branch. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Responsibilities Serve as the Deputy Chief, Army Force Generation Plans Branch, G-3 Plans Division. Analyze assigned missions, external factors of influence, and workload levels to determine their impacts on current and future mission planning. Organize, coordinate, and direct staff personnel and activities in preparing operational plans that support First Army's mission and operations. Provide direct supervision to employees to ensure plans, programs, and policies are consistent with organizational goals. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Plan work estimating costs to conduct all phases of a project by coordinating with staff and line management personnel; 2. Prepare plans for operations and contingencies operations to accomplish the mission; 3. Provide information for different operational and mobilization plans in conjunction with leadership; 4. Participate in coordination of assigned projects in preparing operational plans to accomplish the mission; and 5. Assist in synchronizing the mobilization and training of units deploying in support of Contingency Operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes Information Performance Measurement Planning and Evaluating Workforce Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
