SUPERVISORY PROGRAM ANALYST
Summary This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent serves as the Director, Policy and Plans, overseeing directives, instructions and other policy development, communications and stigma reduction initiatives and identifies and addresses best practices for line leaders, health care providers, chaplains, gatekeepers and first responders. Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM ANALYST at the GS-0343-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the Lead responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of directives, instructions, and other policy documents, as well as congressional reports and other congressional documents/products. Recognized as the authoritative source and works under very minimal direction from senior leadership regarding all policy, congressional, programmatic, and strategic planning projects and initiatives involving suicide prevention for Service members, civilian employees, and their families or survivors. Oversees stigma reduction initiatives, ensuring suicide prevention resources and information are available to Service members and their families, as well as identifies and addresses best practices for gatekeepers, such as line leaders, chaplains, and Service members, among others. Manages, monitors, coordinates, and tracks performance and related activities in support of a variety of DoD initiatives. Coordinates and communicates suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention matters with other DoD components, the Military Services, other government agencies, Congressional staff, and White House staff, to include spearheading/coordinating the DoD-wide executive governance body for suicide prevention. Serves on working groups and committees and maintains liaison with, and presents briefings to, senior leaders on behalf of the Defense Human Resources Activity and Office of Force Resiliency. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Developing and staffing/coordinating Departmental policies, directives, and/or instructions. Developing and staffing/coordinating Congressional reports, responses to Congressional inquiries and/or legislative proposals. Developing or overseeing initiatives and resources/information dissemination for a DoD personnel support program (e.g., suicide prevention, resilience, transition assistance, or family support). Overseeing working groups/boards (e.g., suicide prevention, family support), and tracking related activities in support of the governance groups. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
